Therapists
Dr. Melody Kia is a depth-oriented Associate Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in trauma work and relationship dynamics. She obtained her doctoral degree in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University.
Melody utilizes evidence-based techniques such as EMDR and IFS to help clients process trauma and pain, regulate their nervous systems, and build resilience. With a Jungian approach, she explores conscious and unconscious patterns, helping clients uncover the underlying narratives that shape their experiences. Whether supporting someone through past experiences, helping them set healthy boundaries, or breaking unhelpful cycles, Melody’s goal is to guide clients toward meaningful, lasting change.
Having grown up between Iran and Sweden before moving to the U.S., she provides therapy in English, Farsi, and Swedish and works comfortably with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Outside of her practice, Melody enjoys storytelling, world mythologies, and dream analysis. She lives in Los Angeles with her two dogs, Psyche and Opium, named after the Greek goddess and her journey to the underworld. She is passionate about travel, exploring different cultures, and gaining new perspectives—interests that deepen her understanding of human experience.
