Shiva Ghardashem, LMFT (# 107384), an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, received her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy in addition to School Counseling from Philips Graduate University. Also, she earned her Bachelor of Science from California State University in Family Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Family Studies.

Her clinical and educational background in Child Development and Family Studies has led her to work collaboratively with parents to educate and empower them to overcome with the parenting challenges. She has offered parenting classes and group counseling over 7 years. In addition, she has worked with people in recovery of substance abuse and educated and supported them to achieve their goals and maintain their sobriety. She integrated Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy to assist clients to establish healthier relationship and implement effective coping skills to regulate their emotions, actions, and reaction.

She started her clinical work in Psychology field over 4 years ago and has a broad range of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Her warm and empathic approach, which is influenced by Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, invites clients to identify their strengths and capabilities and explore new possibilities towards change and a better future in a safe and therapeutic environment.
